I International online Conference ‘Communication and Digital Society’
April, 18th-19th, 2013

The so called “digital revolution” has ceased to be a paradigm and has become a reality which affects every facet of today’s society. Its influence is especially obvious in media and communication. The rise of new channels, contents, formats and models is reshaping media even more radically than in other revolutions. Thus a new field of study, complex but exciting, is being delineated.

Universidad Internacional de la Rioja (UNIR) and “Comunicación y sociedad digital” Research Group launch this conference which aims to be a meeting point for academics and researchers interested in this area of knowledge.

The conference will be organized along –but not restricted to- the following axes:
• Social media and communication
• New persuasive strategies: marketing and online advertising
• New entertainment formats
• Interactive communication: from videogames to newsgaming or advergaming
• Mobile communication
• Survival of traditional media on a digital society

The conference will take place wholly online. Every activity (sessions, chairs, presentations, roundtable sessions…) will be able to be followed by videoconference and by IPTV.

A scientific committee will evaluate the proposals and the papers to be included in a e-book (with ISBN) gathering the papers presented at the conference

Proposals for papers:

Proposals for papers should be delivered by November 26th, 2012 in any of the accepted file formats (.doc, .docx, .rtf or .pdf) to the following e-mail address:(coysodi /at/ unir.net). The message descriptor must include the proposal title.

Proposals must include the following data :
• English title
• Abstract (300/500 words)
• Keywords (5-6)
• Name of author/s
• Author/s institutional e-mail
• Institutional affiliation
• Short résumé including: current position, research area, most recent works…
• 3-5 bibliographic references

The Conference scientific committee will evaluate these proposals and communicate their acceptance or rejection before December 3rd, 2012.

Papers may be submitted in Spanish or English

Deadlines:
November, 26th, 2012: submission of abstracts
December, 3rd, 2012: confirmation of acceptation
April, 2, 2013: full paper submission

Registration:
• Conference fee: 75 € (per paper authorship. I.e.: presentation of two papers as coauthor would mean a fee of 150€)
• Attendance (without paper proposal): 20€
• Fee payment will be organized once the proposal acceptance is submitted.
