CALL FOR PAPERS

BARCELONA MEETING #2:
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
SOCIAL E·XPERIENCES 2012
Network 2: PUBLIC RELATIONS AND SOCIETY
Barcelona, 3 and 4 July 2012

Call for Papers for Public Relations

In response to the petitions received, the scientific committee has decided to extend
the deadline for abstract submissions until 24 March 2012.

Our other breaking news is that Professor Ray Hiebert has generously recognised the second Barcelona conference by producing a special issue ?to be edited by the organisers, David McKie, Jordi Xifra, and Ferran Lalueza? of Public Relations Review on the theme of its call for papers

To fit within the overall conference umbrella topic of 'Social e-Xperience', the PR theme is 'Public Relations and Society'. It is designed to be broad and we invite a wide range of respondents that might include some of the following:

-How are you experienced, or what does the exponential growth of social media mean for educators and practitioners?

-PR, networks, and social media

-Is there, or should there be, a 'socio-cultural turn' in PR

-Does PR run the risk of becoming a sub-branch of sociology?

-The poor social reputation of PR (and what to do about it)

-The role of CSR in PR-society relations

-Do different cultures and different histories lead to different PR-society relations

-In an age of globalisation and transnational institutions, who are the key stakeholders for PR

In this leap year, please plunge in with an abstract as soon as possible (early applications will receive an early response). The call for papers closes on 24th March, 2012.

Details for attending, for paying registration, and for submitting abstracts and papers are now available on the website:
