[ecrea] After Leveson? - Call for Papers - Institute of Communication Ethics annual Conference

Wed May 30 15:08:01 GMT 2012

*AFTER LEVESON?*

*THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE INSTITUTE OF COMMUNICATION ETHICS.*

*LONDON 25 OCTOBER 2012*

*Will Brian Leveson change British journalism forever? Or will it go the

way of too many previous inquiries into the mainstream press - and not

change very much at all?*

*The focus of Leveson has been on the ethics of the mainstream press.

They will have to change*

*After the success of last year's conference and the 'hackademic' book

which resulted, THE PHONE HACKING SCANDAL; JOURNALISM ON TRIAL (Arima

February 2012), the Institute of Communication Ethics returns to the

subject as Lord Justice Leveson delivers his first report. *

*300-word abstracts (to Professor Richard Lance Keeble at

(rkeeble /at/ lincoln.ac.uk) by August 1st) are invited for the conference on

any issue around Life After Leveson. Each presentation will last a

maximum of 20 minutes. The Conference is to be held from 9.30-3.30 at the iconic

Frontline Club, 13 Norfolk Place, London W2 and will conclude at 4.00

with a debate on the issues - chaired by the eminent veteran media hack

Raymond Snoddy. *

* *

*The second and updated edition of the PHONE HACKING SCANDAL will launch

at the same time.*
