News in Europe, Europe in News is a multifaceted look at contemporary studies
in news media in Europe and/or reporting about the European issues. Europe as
a key element of the title may be considered as a symbol of integration and a
diversity at the same time. The book brings together a range of international
scholars, drawn from representative disciplines in the media studies and
journalism. While some of the authors follow the emerging patterns in the
foreign news coverage, identifying shared by the contemporary news media, the
other explore a unique cultural character of the journalism in particular
countries. Finally, questions about the audience's reception of the news and
the perceptions of the world covered by the news media are raised here. The
book also offers an incisive analysis of the major theoretical and conceptual
challenges to the studies on the foreign news reporting.
