[ecrea] kultur-e CFP final version

Tue May 26 12:30:35 GMT 2015

/kultur-e/, a peer-reviewed and aperiodical open-access journal, which
will publish scholarly research on cultural studies, particularly as
related to the cultures of Turkey and Turks throughout the world, under
the aegis of the Cultural Studies Association of Turkey, cordially
invites proposals on any aspect of the experience of "the New Turkey", a
popular leitmotiv in Turkey’s current political lexicon.

Active since 2005, the Cultural Studies Association of Turkey is a NGO
focused on the
encouragement and enhancement of research in the field of cultural
studies in Turkey. More information about the association is available
at this address: http://www.kulturad.org <http://www.kulturad.org/>

The inaugural issue of /kultur-e/ has the thematic title “A New Turkey:
All Over Again?” and it aims to gather contributions from the social
sciences, humanities, design and liberal arts to initiate a discussion
on what "new Turkey" means exactly, and how these meanings are “new” in
Turkey as of today.

Submissions are welcome in written, audial and/or visual form.

The inaugural issue will be published in September 2015 to coincide with
the tenth anniversary of the Cultural Studies Association of Turkey.
Subsequent issues will be published a-periodically, and all published
material will remain available online along with commentaries or
discussions submitted by readers and viewers.

The deadline for submissions for the inaugural issue is June 1, 2015.
Guidelines for submission are available at http://kultur-e.kulturad.org/.

We keenly look forward for your positive response. Please help us to
spread our invitation to potential contributors by forwarding this email
to your network and/or sharing the attached flyer/cfp at your institution.

Please feel free to contact the editors at (kultur-e /at/ kulturad.org)
<mailto:(kultur-e /at/ kulturad.org)> for any further queries.

Yours Sincerely,
Çimen Günay-Erkol and Aninne Schneider.
