We are delighted to announce the publication of /Audience Studies: From Tradition to Innovation/ (Estudios de la audiencia: de la tradición a la innovación), ISBN 9788418525872, edited by Gedisa and AEIC (Asociación Española de Investigación en la Comunicación) and coordinated by Natalia Quintas-Froufe & Ana González-Neira (Universidade da Coruña, Spain).


Never before have audiences been so decisive in any communication process. Digital ecosystem has given them greater prominence thanks to their enormous capacity for interaction. This book brings together the main theoretical contributions of Audience Studies and confronts them with the challenges that the current media ecosystem imposes.


This book is the result of the collaboration of 19 experts in Audience Studies who offer some keys about the 21st century audience. The topic is approached into ten chapters from theory to practice, from articles on the conceptual basis of audience and reception studies to different modalities of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies adapted to the current digital context.
