JOURNAL ICONO14. Year 9. Vol 2. Immersive Education and Communication
July 2011

This issue contains contributions from specialists in different fields of
knowledge about the creation of new spaces for communication and education
based on 3D environments. Methodological contributions, experiences and
thoughts about virtual worlds builders of pseudo-realities that, thanks to
the sense of presence, the interaction with the environment and the sensory
feedback, facilitate user immersion. New contexts and new methodologies,
which find their expression within an environment that explores the
subjectivity of the teaching-communicative act, meanwhile bring the
knowledge closer to everyone, encouraging participation and collaborative
work overcoming spatial inaccessibility.
This selection of articles intends to explore the potential use of these ne=
communication spaces in detail that transform and determine, to a large
extent, forms and methods of social interaction within the framework of the
Knowledge Society.
