[ecrea] Open call for book chapters. Theme: Cities

Intellect Books will launch its ‘Mediated Cities’ book series with three volumes at the conference ‘Digital-Cultural Ecology and the Medium-Sized City’, April 2016. Bristol, UK.

Themes include how can the medium sized city resist the hegemony of capital cities through the use of new technologies; how do new medias facilitate engagement in city wide debates from community activists; does the digital age alter the economy and or culture of how cities are managed.

Papers submitted to this conference will form the backbone of the fourth book in the series. To submit, visit:

The book series and the conference are organised by the academic journal Architecture_MPS, Intellect Books, the University of the West of England and the Centre for Moving Image Research.

The series is a cross disciplinary investigation of the modern, technologically laden, urban experience – its design, planning, representation, visualisation etc. It welcomes contributions from the perspective of urban design, planning, cultural studies, digital art, emerging technologies, social media, film, photography, politics and more.
