The Media, Communications and Cultural Studies Association Postgraduate Net=
work invites submission of abstracts for its Annual Postgraduate Conference=
 to be held on 4th and 5th of July, 2011 at Bournemouth University, Bournem=
outh, UK. This interdisciplinary conference, which is sponsored by ADM-HEA,=
 gives an opportunity to Masters and PhD students, as well as early year po=
stdoctoral researchers to share their work on any topic related to the fiel=
ds of media, communication and cultural studies.

Presentations can be in the form of papers, posters, performances, films an=
d multimedia presentations. Panel proposals are also welcome with up to fou=
r papers each. Abstracts of 200 words (for 20 minute presentations) should =
be mailed no later than 13 May to: (meccsa-pgn2011 /at/ bournemouth.ac.uk)<mailto:=

Please include with your abstract:

- Your name, contact details, institutional affiliation and year of study;

- Title and topic of research, including method(s) used;

-  Up to five key words, which will help the reviewers classify your propos=
al;

- Technical requirements for the presentation;

- An indication of whether you also plan to submit a full-length article fo=
r the MeCCSA-PGN journal, Networking Knowledge.

For panels, we require a short description and rationale (200 words), in ad=
dition to the abstracts for each of the papers (200 words each). For propos=
als involving practice research, please ensure that you send DVD preview ma=
terial (up to 5 minutes) with the abstract via post. Alternatively, include=
 in your abstract a URL to a web-based preview of the material.

In addition to papers, the conference will also include engaging and intere=
sting keynote and plenary lectures, as well as workshops on publishing, pre=
senting research, and teaching. There will also be plenty of opportunity to=
 network, including a planned beach barbecue (weather permitting) and other=
 social events.

] for updates. You can also pre-register for the conference at the BU confe=
rence website to receive information about keynote and plenary speakers, de=
tails of the final programme, conference registration, accommodation and tr=
avel.

Abstracts received by 15 March 2011 will be notified of acceptance by 8 Apr=
il 2011. Abstracts received by 13 May 2011 will be notified of acceptance b=
y 27 May 2011.
