Fifth International Conference of Russian Communication Association
Communication Spaces: Ranges, Limits, Resources
(Communication-2010)
The Russian Communication Association (RCA) in
collaboration with the North American Russian
Communication Association (NARCA) and Tver State
University (TvSU) announce the Fifth
International Conference Communication Spaces: Ranges, Limits, Resources
(Communication-2010) to be held in Tver, Russia on September 7-12, 2010.
National Communication Association, International
Communication Association, European Communication
Research and Education Association, and Polish
Communication Association are international partners of the Conference.
Aims of the Conference:
The space metaphor in the conference title means
approaching the field with multidisciplinary
research tools. We suggest to structure
discussion along the main components of the basic
model of communication, or conceptual domains of communication process:
* Impact of the Author?s personality on communication
* Problems of interpretation, or looking at
communication with the Addressee?s eyes
* Specifics, limits and advantages of various communication Channels
* Frames of reference and other linguistic aspects of the Message
* Communication Goals: affecting or interacting
* Sociocultural Contexts of communication
process: philosophical, cultural, psychological,
linguistic, political, sociological, mass-media, economic e.a. perspectives
* Communication in the multicultural environment
* New instruments, technology, web resources
Submission of Abstracts, Papers, and Proposals:
Papers are invited in all the above-mentioned
fields of multidisciplinary discussion. The
Conference organizers also invite submissions for
focused panels, round-table discussions, and
master classes. Papers are welcome for the
interactive poster session. The deadline for
conference registration and abstracts submission is March 30, 2010.
The Conference working languages are English and Russian.
Unlike the previous years, this time all the
submissions to the Conference are made via
website:

as is all communication regarding the Conference
preparation. All the necessary information on
registration process, abstract guidelines, review
process, location and accommodation can be found
on specific pages of this website.
Organizers of the Conference plan to publish an
electronic version of the Conference materials.
Registration and fees: The conference fee is
1500 RUR (approximately $50) to be paid at the
arrival. This includes participants? package,
coffee-breaks, a conference dinner and one excursion.
Site information and accommodations: The
Conference will be held in Tver, an old Russian
city at the banks of the Volga river, 180 km from
Mosocw, at the Tver State
University. Accommodations are available at the
hotel Volga (5 minutes walking from the
conference venue) at approx. $ 40-45 per
person/per night in double, or $75 in single rooms.
