EU - RAPID GROWTH OF ITV BANKING IN EUROPE

The rapid growth of interactive television throughout Europe is leading
more and more financial institutions to offer TV-based banking services,
according to E-marketer. The article points out several research studies
that prove of the increasing financial activity in the medium. One of
them, carried out by Celent Communications, indicates that one-third of
the top 20 European banks already offer some form of interactive TV
banking and predict there will be 10 million interactive television
banking users in Europe by 2004. Regarding iTV banking penetration
leadership, a study by Datamonitor reveals that the head European
countries for iTV banking will be the UK, France, Germany and the Nordic
countries.
