Funded by AHRC through Clwstwr (Welcome to Clwstwr | Clwstwr 
<https://clwstwr.org.uk/>), this is the first mapping of screen sector 
skills (including skills specifically in innovation) in the Cardiff 
Capital Region. We have conducted the whole research project during the 
Covid19 pandemic and some findings directly address its impact on screen 
workers.

Key findings include:

  * 41.5% of screen freelancers in the region reported being a parent or
    carer
  * 86% of all independent screen industries organisations in CCR
    recruit for sectoral role through word of mouth
  * 73.3% of screen firms in the region are micro or small enterprises
  * Only 5.5% of training organisations delivered training for those at
    senior professional levels
