[ecrea] New book - Creating Space in the Fifth Estate
Wed May 10 19:31:03 GMT 2017
/Creating Space in the Fifth Estate/ (Fulton & McIntyre 2017) is a new
book edited by Janet Fulton and Phillip McIntyre from the University of
Newcastle, Australia. It resulted from the efforts of McIntyre and
Fulton in convening the ANZCA conference at UON in July 2016. The book
examines the radical changes being brought about by the digital
revolution and includes chapters from selected papers submitted and
presented at the conference.
The deep and far-reaching changes that are being wrought by the digital
revolution are as radical in their effect as the impact of the
industrial revolution was in the nineteenth century and the book
explores what is new and valued about the digital media environment.
While the long-term significance of these changes is uncertain, the
nature of the power of differing forms of media offers interesting
possibilities for research, as does the potential for a new mainstream
space that shares characteristics with older loci of power.
/Creating Space in the Fifth Estate/ was published on May Day by
Cambridge Scholarly Publishers and can be found at:
