Hanzade Uralman is pleased to announce that the *3rd International Symposium on Women in Audiovisual Culture* will be held on *April 9–11, 2026*, jointly organized by the Department of Cinema and Television at the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, and the Department of Public Relations and Advertising at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Istanbul Okan University. The symposium will take place at Istanbul Okan University Tuzla Campus on *April 9–10*, and at SALT Galata on *April 11*.

As the third edition of this international gathering, the symposium aims to explore women’s production, representation, and participation in audiovisual culture through an interdisciplinary lens. The 2026 program is structured around four thematic areas: *“Women and Artificial Intelligence: New Realms of Digital Subjectivity in Audiovisual Culture,” “Women, Ecology, and Vitality in Audiovisual Culture,” “Women’s Creative Resistance in Audiovisual Culture: The Testimony of Art in Times of War, Conflict, and Crisis,”* and *“Open Participation Fields in Audiovisual Culture: Women’s Narratives, Memory, and Creativity.”*

A special colloquium titled *“New Generation Women Academics: Voices, Methods, and Solidarity in the Digital Age”* will also be featured within the program. A separate application category will be available for the colloquium, which is *open to all women master’s and doctoral students*. The colloquium aims to provide a space for young women scholars to present their research in audiovisual culture and to discuss methodological and theoretical approaches. Strengthening their voices, addressing the structural challenges they face, and fostering networks of solidarity constitute the core goals of the colloquium.

Open to artists, researchers, academics, and students, the symposium seeks to provide an inspiring environment for sharing innovative perspectives, creative work, and critical reflections. Abstracts in Turkish or English must be submitted via the online application form by *16 February 2026*.
