Find below information on the call for abstracts for the I International 
Conference on Freedom of Religion and Belief, in which papers focusing 
on the links between communication and media and FORB are welcome.

I International Conference on Freedom of Religion and Belief - 2 & 3 
June, 2022 in Barcelona

The First International Conference on Freedom of Religion and Belief, 
convened by the Blanquerna Observatory on Media, Religion and Culture 
and the General Directorate for Religious Affairs of the Department of 
Justice of the Government of Catalonia, will take place in Barcelona on 
2-3 June, 2022. The goals of the conference are to:

  * Present the preliminary results of the report about the situation in
    Catalonia.
  * Share good practices at the local, regional or international level
    in regards to the management of religious diversity and the
    promotion of religious freedom.
  * Analyze the international standards that assess the exercise of the
    right to religious freedom and the prevention of violations to the
    right.
  * Create a debate among experts and members of international
    institutions about the international situation and trends in freedom
    of religion and conscience, as well as methodologies, categories and
    indicators for the analysis of the reality of religious freedom.

The Conference will take place at the Faculty of Communication and 
International Relations Blanquerna (Ramon Llull University).

The call for abstracts is open to proposals concerning the right to 
freedom of religion and belief, including religious freedom and the 
media. Suggested topics include but are not limited to:

  * Religious freedom and work environment
  * Local, national and international reports on freedom of religion and
    belief
  * Religious freedom and education
  * Religious freedom and the COVID-19 pandemic
  * Religious freedom and places of worship
  * Religious affairs at the public sphere
  * Religious freedom from an ethical and philosophical perspective
  * Religious freedom and hate speech
  * Religious freedom and the media
  * Religious freedom and women
  * Religious freedom and youth
  * Cases of violations to the right to freedom of religion and belief
  * Good practices of respect and promotion of religious freedom

The deadline to submit abstracts is April 1st, 2022.
