Literature, Media and Culture Here and Now

/New Horizons in English Studies///(open access, peer reviewed, 
published by Maria Curie-Sklodowska University Press, no APCs, indexed 
in MLA International Bibliography and ERIH+)//invites submissions to the 
7/2022 issue, welcoming previously unpublished research papers and 
reviews in the broadly understood field of literary, media and cultural 
studies (L, M & C). The scope of subjects includes but is not limited to 
the following:

- how literature, media and culture (L, M & C) help us to better 
understand and react to the major challenges of our time, including the 
COVID-19 pandemic, various ecological crises, climate change, 
globalisation, income inequality, gender inequality, fake news, racism, 
misogyny, etc.,

- how L, M & C can prove useful in rethinking individualism, identity, 
and human agency in the Anthropocene,

- how L, M & Cengage questions of technology and progress, reframing the 
entrenched dichotomy of science and humanities,

- how L, M & Cfacilitate development of novel modes of the imagination, 
emphasizing its crucial role in today’s public debate, education, and 
criticism,

- how L, M & Creinvent themselves through formal experimentation, 
attention to hitherto unexplored thematic regions, and development of 
links with other arts, the digital world, and popular culture,

- how L, M & Cmove across languages and cultures through translation, 
adaptation, and various modes of intertextuality,

- how the genre system is challenged and revised, embracing a variety of 
hybrid forms and dismantling the hierarchy of high and low L, M & C.
