DIGITAL FOLK – One day conference

CALL FOR PAPERS

This one-day Digital Folk conference at the University of Sheffield will 
explore the practices, cohesions or frictions that can arise when folk 
and traditional arts come into contact with digital technologies.

We welcome contributions from folk practitioners and scholars, but also 
anyone interested in digital practices of exchange and community and DIY 
creativity, whether focused on folk, other music, or kinds of other 
practices – where we expect that those perspectives will illuminate the 
central topic in interesting ways.

This is part of the AHRC-funded Digital Folk project led by Simon 
Keegan-Phipps at University of Sheffield and David Gauntlett at 
University of Westminster.
