“Culture 4D: Digitization, Data, Disruptions, Diversity” - Conference in 
Tallinn, Estonia, 29-30 September - http://culture4d.net/

This is an invitation for the scholarly community to attend this 
conference co-organised by the Council of Europe, Tallinn University 
(Centre of excellece in Media Innovation and Digital Culture) and 
Estonian Ministry of Culture.

It will be one of the first conferences to focus on the management of 
cultural big data by the European cultural sector. The keynotes and 
panels will discuss the related challenges and opportunities for the 
cultural institutions in Europe’s bigger and smaller countries.

The two keynoters are Philip Schlesinger (Glasgow University, UK) and 
Divina Frau-Meigs (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, France). The panels 
include the leading media and culture studies scholars (David 
Hesmondhalgh, Andrew Hoskins, Peter Stockinger, Myria Georgiou, Aphra 
Kerr, Andra Siibak, Marju Lauristin and many others). Plus leading 
policy makers, activists, artists.

Culture 4D conference will be immediately followed by another event: 
Cross Motion conference and hackathon that focus on how digital 
audiovisual industries could co-innovate with three other sectors - 
education, health care and tourism. That is: 1 + 1 = 3 days event in 
Tallinn that includes the conferences, hacking and a free party at the
