[ecrea] 2nd conference call for abstract to the The Seventh International Tourism and Media (ITAM) Conference

Deadline is approaching in the end of April for extended abstracts for
the *seventh International Tourism and Media (ITAM*)*conference* to be
held at *Lund University, Campus Helsingborg, Helsingborg, Sweden on the
24-26 of August 2016*. There will be interesting presentations, keynote
speaker Andre Jansson (professor in media and communication studies at
Karlstad University, Sweden), some typical Swedish food and cultural
traditions such as crayfish party and an excursion to the region to
known locations from the TV-series "Wallander and "The Bridge" amongst
other locations. So I have enclosed the conference call for abstracts
again below and hope that some of you are interested in submitting an
abstract.

Lund University, Campus Helsingborg, is proud to invite tourism and
media researchers to the seventh International Tourism and Media (ITAM)
conference to be held at Campus Helsingborg, Helsingborg, Sweden on the
24-26 of August 2016. Researchers are invited to participate in
developing the relationship between tourism and the media, including
popular culture.
The aim of the conference is to move tourism and media knowledge forward
through presentation and discussion that will lead to further research
and publications. The intent is to include a broad range of interests
and backgrounds within the field of tourism and media research.
We welcome a broad range of papers from both media and tourism
perspectives. Papers at former conferences have included topics such as
for example:

· TV Travel Guides and film tourism impacts
· Popular culture, fans and tourists
· The nexus between cultural heritage, media and tourism
· Film-induced tourism in Korea
· Sustainable film tours
· The landscape of Sherlock Holmes Tourism

· Travel Writers
· Film tourism collaborations
· Representations, tourists and Crime Fiction
· Fantasy, History, and Contemporary Television Tourism

Keynote speaker is André Jansson, Professor of media and communication
studies, from Karlstad University, Sweden.

Excursion: Included in the conference fee there is an excursion to the
region to locations known from popular culture such as “The Bridge” and
“Wallander”.
The conference fee is 2300 SEK (roughly £200 or €245)

• Notice of acceptance of abstracts by mid May, 2016
• Final date for conference registration 31 May
• Conference date 24-26 August, 2016
