[ecrea] Call for Papers! Special issue of international journal "Media Transformations"
Thu Jun 27 16:24:46 GMT 2013
Academic journal of media and journalism studies “Media Transformations”
is announcing Call for Papers for the special issue “Liquidity,
Fragmentation, and Individualization in the Mediascape: Meeting the
Challenges of Journalism, Media, and Communications Change in Central
and Eastern Europe” which will be published in December 2013.
The core theme of this issue puts a strong emphasis on changing roles,
missions and functions of contemporary media in Central and Eastern
Europe (CEE). It applies a very broad (historical, comparative,
case-based analysis, media use analysis, and others) perspective and
raises questions about effects and severe social and cultural
consequences of media change. By aiming to tackle all these questions
the theme seeks to address political and social histories of CEE media
development and change. Briefly, it moves around the main idea that CEE
countries and their media and communications could be studied as
laboratories of modern life where all contemporary controversies are
identied and tested. Articles submitted are expected to cover a broad
spectrum of ideas related to ongoing changes and transformations as well
as emerging challenges that contemporary journalism and media
professionals, scholars, policy makers need to address in diverse
political and cultural contexts.
