[ecrea] Call for papers - Digital media production: Learners, identity and curation

Sun Jun 09 07:32:44 GMT 2013

SPECIAL ISSUE
DIGITAL MEDIA PRODUCTION: learners, identity and curation

The journal E-learning and Digital Media (www.wwwords.co.uk/ELEA)
invites authors engaged in youth cultures and cultures of digital
production to submit research articles to an upcoming special issue on
digital media authorship and learner identity which explore instances
of learner’s engagement with practices of self-representation and
self-curation in social and new media, edited by Dr John Potter and Dr
Øystein Gilje.

We welcome contributions from different parts of the world as the
intended audience is international scholars, researchers, policy
makers and education specialists who can contribute to a forum for
interdisciplinary work and public debate about the consequences of
digital production practices for our understanding of authorship and
learner identity.

Authors are encouraged to submit articles that illustrate research
results, report on projects, reviews on identity, learning and digital
production as well as participation and learning in online
communities. These could include, but not be limited to, instances of
productive engagement with social media, sharing, remixing and making
media texts in a variety of spaces inside and outside settings of
learning, formal and informal, across a range of ages and contexts.

All contributions should be original and should not be under
consideration elsewhere. Authors should be aware that they are writing
for an international audience and should use appropriate language.
