Liberation, Izmir-TR, May 9-11, 2012. (English and Turkish)

Dokuz Eylul University, Woman Rights and Problems Research and Practice
Center (DEKAUM) would like to invite your submission of paper proposals
related to the main theme of the conference,�Awareness and Emancipation of
Woman�, including (but not limited to) the following:
Being a woman in history and being a woman today
Woman, freedom, equality and awareness
Gender discrimination
Woman�s rights and international agreements
Woman�s legal status in public and private sector
Violence against women
Woman in terms of Family Law
Woman in Criminal Law
Woman�s position and situation in politics
Woman�s liberalization movements during the pre- and post-Republican periods
Modernization and woman
Women�s struggle for freedom and equality
Woman�s status in various cultures
Woman�s social roles and the search for identity
The importance of language in the establishment of dominant policies
The importance of language in woman�s awareness and liberalization
Solutions in woman�s liberalization
The history of women�s movements
Women�s movements in Turkey
Republican Revolution and woman
Women who made their mark in history
The position of woman in literature and art
Woman(hood) myths/ Woman(hood) in myths
Woman and Health
Woman and Environment
Woman in the Media
Woman images in this day and age
Globalization, poverty and woman
Globalization and the pressure of different cultures on woman
The perspective of various religions towards woman
The impact of religion and culture on woman�s liberation
The Conference will be held in Rectorship of Dokuz Eylul University
Building, DESEM hall (Alsancak, Izmir, Turkiye) and in both Turkish and
English.
Please submit a paper title and abstract no more than 250 words which
includes aim of the research, method and the main result, no later then
January 16, 2012.
All abstracts submitted via e-mail will be ignored.
The manuscript for accepted and full page will be available here on our
conference web page by the notifications of approvals.

Deadline for Proposal Submissions: January 16, 2012
Notification of Approval: February 17, 2012
Deadline for Sending Paper Manuscripts: April 9, 2012
Registration Fee Deadline: April 16,
2012
Final Program: April 20,

Conference Dates: May 9-11, 2012
Selected papers will be published.
