The CI Partner, The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health/, Center for Communication Programs, along with The University of Texas at El Paso/Social Justice Initiative, Health Hollywood and Society and their organisers and collaborating partners, are excited to announce the 5th International Entertainment Education Conference (EE5) http://comminit.com/clickthru/737bbfa78f2d56cbdff4db90edd9968a?node=9283663 to be held in New Delhi on 17- 20 November 2011 and look forward to your participation.

The organisers of the conference describe it as follows:

"The fifth such conference of its kind, EE5 will focus on reaching those most vulnerable, particularly women and children.

Bringing together the popularity of entertainment and the power of education, Entertainment Education has the power to change the world! Rooted in oral traditions (song, dance, drama and story-telling), EE extends to mass media (television, radio, print) and is now crossing new boundaries with innovations in technology (social networking, mobile phones, internet and gaming).

EE5 will explore the state-of-the-art in Entertainment Education and position the field for the next generation of innovations. It will bring together a variety of stakeholders from around the world to examine best practices and new advances, conduct hands-on, participatory learning and explore techniques to improve effectiveness. EE5 will inspire the entertainment industry, public health programmers, academicians, donors, government and others to harness the power of Entertainment-Education and improve health and well being around the world.

We invite communication professionals, artists, public health practitioners, entertainers and others involved in social change to join us in Delhi!"

Given the vital role that entertainment plays in the process of daily life, its demonstrated effectiveness in relation to priority issues and the powerful potential for even greater impact we wanted to share this opportunity for your consideration.

Please note that the conference organisers inform us that the proceedings will be in English.
