New Communities, New Racisms (AAI 4: The 4th AASRN conference)

The 4th AASRN conference will be held 10-11 November 2011 (Thurs-Fri) at 
the University of Melbourne, Parkville, Vic.

   * Professor Ghassan Hage (University of Melbourne)
   * Professor Meaghan Morris (Lingnan University and University of Sydney)
   * Benjamin Law (/The Family Law/, /Frankie/ magazine)
   * Alice Pung (/Unpolished Gem/, /Growing Up Asian in Australia/)

The conference committee is now inviting submissions for individual 
papers focusing on topics relating to the event themes and Asian 
Australian identities.

Suggested topics include:

   * Emerging communities – issues and engagement
   * Political activism, community representation
   * Social media and Web 2.0
   * New queer politics
   * Asian Australian Studies internationally

The committee is also happy to consider papers that address other Asian 
Australian issues and topics.
