[ecrea] Swedish Association of Media and Communication Research's (FSMK) conference & Educational conference MCS

On May 3-4, 2011, the Department of Informatics and Media , Uppsala 
University, will host the

*Swedish Association of Media and Communication Research's (FSMK)
conference*, the *Educational conference MCS (Media and Communication
Studies)* and the *National Meeting on Doctoral Education*.

The first day of the conference will start with a *discussion on future
and contemporary media research in Sweden*. Under the title
"/Transforming Swedish Media Research: Outside-In Perspectives/", three
new MCS professors will present their perspectives: Annette Hill (Lund
University), Christian Fuchs (Uppsala University) and Susan Kozel, Malmö
University. The discussion will be chaired by Margareta Melin (President
of FSMK). It will be followed by a lecture of Professor Charles Ess
(Aarhus University) about Digital Media Ethics.

The focus of the second day is *education in Media and Communication
Studies*. The title of this event is "/Progression in Learning and
Profiling in the Field/". The goal of this day is to discuss questions
and advances relating to education in the field of Media and
Communication Studies. This discussion will be followed by the National
Meeting on Doctoral Education in Media and Communication Research, which
will be chaired by André Jansson (Karlstad University). The session's
goal is to identify common needs and resources as well as to share best
practices in doctoral education.
