*Colloquium*

*Fourth colloquium of the International Alliance for Research on 
Practices and Pedagogy of Journalism (ARPPEJ) which will focus on data 
journalism and which will take place at the University of 
Louvain-La-Neuve in Belgium on October 15, 2021*.

9:30 am: Welcome and introduction: Olivier Standaert (EjL-ORM / UCLouvain)

9.45-10.45 a.m .: Restitution of the data journalism Masterclass with 
Lea Sanchez (journalist for /Le Monde/ - /Les Décodeurs/) by students of 
the Masters in journalism from the University of Lorraine, from the 
Academy of Journalism and Media (AJM - University of Neuchâtel ) and the 
Louvain School of Journalism (UCLouvain)

11h00-12h00: Round table n ° 1: Finding, processing and editorialising 
data during a pandemic period. With Xavier Counasse (Le Soir), Karim 
Douieb (Jetpack.ai) and Duc N’Guyen (Le Temps). Animation: Intissar El 
Hajj Mohamed (AJM) & Grégoire Lits (UCLouvain)

1 pm to 2 pm: Round table n ° 2: Data management in public service 
media: New data, new audiences and new missions? With Samuel Profumo 
(Chief Data Officer at RTBF), Matthieu Parmentier (Head of Data & 
Artificial Intelligence at France Télévisions). Animation: Antonin 
Descampe (UCLouvain) and Stéphanie Lukasik (University of Lorraine)

2.00 p.m. - 2.20 p.m .: Audiences and data journalism: analysis of the 
reception and intelligibility of data journalism : Nathalie 
Pignard-Cheynel & Andrew Robotham (AJM - University of Neuchâtel)

2:20 p.m. - 2:40 p.m .: The automation of data processing in a 
journalistic context. Research perspectives : Antonin Descampe (EjL-ORM 
/ UCLouvain)

2:40 p.m. to 3:00 p.m .: Questions and answers

3:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m .: Conclusion of the day
