*Call for Chapter Abstracts – /Documentary Cultures in Turkey/*

This is a call for chapter abstracts to be considered for an edited 
volume on /Documentary Cultures in Turkey/. We are interested in 
submissions that focus on documentary cinema in Turkey as a vibrant 
discursive and aesthetic arena. With diverse foci ranging from the 
historical roots and the contested beginnings of documentary cinema in 
Turkey to the contemporary production, distribution, and reception 
practices as well as convergent and divergent media genres, /Documentary 
Cultures in Turkey/ will shed light on the dynamics of documentary 
cinema as part of wider systems of cultural production in Turkey. We are 
interested in both chapters that revolve around particular film texts as 
case studies and pieces that scrutinize specific historical periods, 
genres, and documentary movements in Turkey. Please submit your 
approximately 500 words abstracts and short biography to Can Candan 
(Bogazici University) at (can.candan /at/ boun.edu.tr)

acceptance will be sent out by December 30th. The authors of the 
selected abstracts will be invited to submit full papers by March 30th, 
2018. The volume is planned to be published with an international 
publisher by the beginning of 2019.
