[ecrea] Reaching Out: the past, present and future of BBC Local Radio audiences

Tue Oct 17 05:08:47 GMT 2017

Registration is open for the Reaching Out: the past, present and future of BBC Local Radio audiences, being held at De Montfort University, Leicester on November 8th 2017.

Leicester Media School and MeCCSA Radio Studies Network invite academics, researchers and practitioners to mark the 50th anniversary of BBC Local Radio radio in the city of Leicester, where the first BBC local radio station began broadcasting in 1967. Five decades on what does the future hold for BBC local radio stations in England. The one-day conference aims to celebrate the history of local radio but also examine the current situation and look ahead to the future.  How is encouraging local BBC radio stations to work in partnership with other local news media benefitting local communities?
