Contemporary Research on Popular Music and Music Scenes
Universitat fur angewandte Kunst
Horsaal 2 - Altbau

7. and 8. Mai 2009
In the last two decades the study of popular music has become
increasingly diverse. More questions are asked about the different
meanings of music in people's everyday lives and researchers give
considerable attention to various factors that influence the
formation of local, translocal and virtual music scenes.
Furthermore, the global music industry and its influence on local
music production, new technology and the development of cultural
industry clusters are considered as important research areas. The
conference will address various topics on today's research agenda.
Conference will be held in English.
