Title: 1st Pan-European Conference on European Union PoliticsBordeaux, 26-28 September 2002

1st Pan-European Conference on European Union Politics

Bordeaux, 26-28 September 2002
Call for Panels and Papers

------------------------------------------------------------------------

This conference, the first of its kind in Europe, seeks to provide a broad forum for academic debate about the politics of European integration. It aims to attract a wide range of participants from different countries, approaches and specialisations in order to permit the presentation and discussion of current academic research into various aspects of European integration. The conference seeks to focus on wider aspects of the integration process beyond the current developments: the focus on the acquis academique implies an interest in tacking stock of the development of the field of study over the past fifty years, while the emphasis on 'future challenges' indicates an interest in contributions addressing the agenda of the European Union over the next few years. The conference will be open to contributions from both senior and junior scholars, and we would like to encourage the participation of doctoral students in particular.

The conference will be organised around a number of themes. Each of the sections devoted to one of these themes will consist of at least three, more specialised panels. Each panel will consist of a chair/convenor, three paper-givers and a discussant. We welcome proposals for both individual papers and panels. Please follow the guidelines for submission.

Organised by the Standing Group on the EU of the European Consortium of Political Research (ECPR).
