[Commlist] New bilingual special issue on radio in sub-Saharan Africa published
Thu Feb 05 19:18:20 GMT 2026
This new bilingual special issue in the Journal of Radio and Audio Media
(volume 32, Issue 2) may be of interest to those working in radio,
audio, and Africa. Apologies in advance for any cross-posting.
It was created to bridge the gap between Anglophone and Francophone
research on African radio, and to address the linguistic and structural
inequalities that limit many African scholars’ participation in global
academic debates. It also represents an important step in working with a
journal based in the Global North—particularly the United States—to move
beyond English-only publishing, helping to widen access, visibility, and
dialogue across the field.
