[Commlist] Circuits of Practice Research Report Published: Narrating Histories of Computing and Digital Media in Museum Environments

Simone Natale is happy to announce the publication of the final report 
of the AHRC-funded project Circuits of Practice: Narrating Modern 
Computing in Museum Environments has been published and is accessible here:

The report, entitled Narrating Histories of Computing and Digital Media 
in Museum Environments, is the result of two years of collaborative 
practice-based research to investigate how museums construct historical 
narratives with the potential to inform public understandings and 
debates on digital technologies and their impact.

He'd like to thank once more AHRC for funding the project and their 
wonderful partners for engaging so generously with the project's 
activities: BT Archives, London, UK; Bletchley Park, UK; Centre for 
Computing History, Cambridge, UK; Computer History Museum, Mountain 
View, California, US; Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo da 
Vinci, Milan, Italy; National Museum of Computing, Bletchley, UK; 
National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation “Miraikan,” Tokyo, 
Japan; National Science and Media Museum, Bradford, UK; Science Museum, 
London, UK; Victoria & Albert Museum, London, UK.

The project has formally ended on 28 February 2022 but its legacy 
continues to live through the network and the conversation it has 
generated as well as with two activities: the Circuits of Practice book 
club, which continues to meet every fortnight (don't hesitate to contact 
Petrina Foti at (pmfoti /at/ gmail.com) <mailto:(pmfoti /at/ gmail.com)> for 
information and if you want to join the conversation or propose a 
publication to be discussed); and the Digital Atelier, an ensemble 
developing alternative, challenging, creative ways of understanding and 
sharing the project’s findings.
