[Commlist] New book: Handbook of Web History

Tue Jan 08 17:36:42 GMT 2019

The SAGE Handbook of Web History

I would like to draw your attention to the newly published SAGE Handbook of Web History. It handbook marks the first comprehensive review of this subject to date. Its editors emphasise two main different forms of study: the use of the web as an historical resource, and the web as an object of study in its own right. Bringing together all the existing knowledge of the field, with an interdisciplinary focus and an international scope, this is an incomparable resource for researchers and students alike.

You can find articles on the following topics:
.	Part I The Web and Historiography
.	Part II Theoretical and Methodological Reflections
.	Part III Technical and Structural Dimensions of Web History
.	Part IV Platforms on the Web
(History of Social Media, Wikipedia, Web Advertising, GeoCities, Blogs.)
.	Part V Web History and Users, some Case Studies
.	Part VI The Roads Ahead

For more information on the handbook, its content and a preview chapter (Chapter 15: Hypertext before the Web) see: https://uk.sagepub.com/en-gb/eur/the-sage-handbook-of-web-history/book252251
