Sheridan College is a leading art and design institution in Canada. It
seeks to develop best practice pedagogy within a context in which art
and design students need to find employment in the creative industries;
engage with communities and society in a responsible way; and explore
and develop as individual artists and designers. This conference
reflects these objectives.
TEACHING AND LEARNING – Sheridan College Call
Dates: April 26-28, 2023
Abstracts: Nov 15, 2022 (Round 1) | March 1, 2023 (Round 2)

-
Sessions will be organized in accordance with disciplinary focus: art,
design, media, architecture, film studies, urban design, landscape
architecture and more
Examples of the questions we seek to ask at this conference are:
- How is exploration within studio-based learning fostering adaptation
to complexity? - How are approaches to teaching and learning responding
to shifts in professional and creative practice? - What models of
peer-to-peer learning support collaboration within education and
practice? - What emerging and current frameworks support knowledge
exchange, interdisciplinary research, innovation and/or community
partnerships? - What methodologies and approaches help to facilitate
and support effective academic and community partnerships? - How do
partnerships between academia, communities, and organizations foster
“real world” and lifelong learning? - How can interdisciplinary
educational approaches foster effective, collaborative and participatory
learning? - How can virtual curriculum delivery support applied
education and preparation for a complex and dynamic world? - How can
virtual and distance education foster access and inclusion for potential
and current learners?
-
Part of the Applying Education in a Complex World event organised in
collaboration with AMPS and Routledge.
