*Special Issue Information*

The youngsters are online reconfiguring the notions of childhood and adolescence through digital consumption and production. Children and adolescents have the right to a plural representation in the media and to produce their own representations, expanding the boundaries of their social roles (Buckingham, 2009). At the same time, these new possibilities for content creation and circulation raise relevant discussions about legal guarantees for children that must be reinforced in the digital environment (Livingstone, 2021), in face of market interests. This special issue comprises research on the sociocultural constructions of contemporary childhoods and adolescences, through media productions, and digital communication practices. Thus, we welcome theoretical and empirical papers and literary and visual essays, on this broad subject, which privilege children and adolescents as subjects of rights, according to the premises of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989). The Pós-Limiar journal invites submissions, addressing the role of children and adolescents in the era of convergence, taking into consideration their representations, uses and appropriations of digital technologies. In this sense, the special issue aims to promote the debate on some elements of this process: the content production, circulation and consumption by children and adolescents and/or directed at them in the digital era, the representations and discourses arising from these different forms of production, and the commercial interests, and public policies that frame them.
The articles submitted to the issue may cover the following topics:

• reconfigurations of socio-communicative practices by young people in the digital context;
• children and adolescents as digital content producers;
• media and processes of reception and circulation by children and adolescents; • challenges to guarantee the children’s rights in the online environment in the face of commercial interests; • news and media representations of childhood and adolescence in the online environment;
• minority groups and exclusion in the digital context;
• the identity of communicators dedicated to children and adolescents and their productive routines; • methodological approaches to research children and adolescents in the digital sphere;
