Call for Papers: Challenging Tech

Deadline for Articles: 15th October 2021
Publication Date: 30th March 2022

Following the day symposium ‘Challenging Tech,’ hosted by Cardiff 
University’s Data Justice Lab and Prospect Union in May 2021, the 
editors of the JOMEC Journal wish to invite contributions to a special 
edition of the journal on the theme of digitisation, the politics of 
data, political protest, and resistance. Areas which might be addressed 
include trade unions and technology, digital organising strategies, 
political protest and surveillance, worker data and autonomy, and 
solidarity in a digital age. The editors also welcome volunteers to 
review selected books (up to 1500 words) for the publication of the 
upcoming open issue.
Article submissions can be made on the journal’s homepage, and 
submission guidelines are available at:

All articles should be submitted using the Cardiff Harvard style of 
referencing. Details and a brief tutorial can be found

Yn dilyn y symposiwm 'Herio Tech,' a gynhaliwyd gan Lab Cyfiawnder Data 
Prifysgol Caerdydd ac Undeb Prospect ym mis Mai 2021, mae golygyddion y 
JOMEC Journal yn dymuno gwahodd cyfraniadau i rifyn arbennig o'r 
cyfnodolyn ar thema digideiddio, gwleidyddiaeth data. , protest 
wleidyddol, a gwrthwynebiad. Ymhlith y meysydd y gellir rhoi sylw iddynt 
yw undebau llafur a thechnoleg, strategaethau trefnu digidol, protestio 
a gwyliadwriaeth wleidyddol, data gweithwyr ac ymreolaeth, ac undod mewn 
oes ddigidol. Mae'r golygyddion hefyd yn croesawu gwirfoddolwyr i 
adolygu llyfrau dethol (hyd at 1500 gair) ar gyfer cyhoeddiad y rhifyn 
agored sydd i ddod.
