“Borders Without Boundaries” is the theme of the Canadian Federation for 
the Humanities andSocial Sciences (CFHSS) 2014 Congress within which the 
Canadian CommunicationAssociation (CCA) will hold its Annual Conference 
May 28-30, 2014 at the BrockUniversity in St. Catharines, Ontario 
(http://congress2014.ca) St. Catharinesis located approximately 100 
kilometers from Toronto. We are calling forproposals that explore, 
critique and extend this theme as well as for proposalson any other 
themes relevant to Communication Studies.

The CCA keynoteaddress will be delivered by Jodi Dean, Professor of 
Political Science atHobart and William Smith Colleges and author of such 
books as Blog Theory (2010), Democracy and Other Neoliberal Fantasies 
(2009), and Aliens in America: Conspiracy Cultures fromOuterspace to 
Cyberspace (1998).



We invite scholarsand professionals to submit proposals that develop the 
range and depth ofscholarship in communication studies. Proposals may 
take the form of:

Single-paperpresentations
Panels (no more than 4papers are permitted)
Roundtables or Workshops
Performances orScreenings

In order to facilitate conversation on the changing universityand the 
realities of precarious (“part-time,” Contract Academic Staff, 
adjunct,limited term, etc.) employment at universities generally and in 
CommunicationStudies in particular, we encourage submission of proposals 
for panels,individual papers, or roundtables on this topic.

In order topresent a paper at the conference, you must be a paid member 
of the CanadianCommunication Association. You must pay your dues by 
March 1st 2014in order to be included in the final schedule. If you are

tiendra du 28 au 30 mai 2014 à l’Université deBrock, à St. Catharines 
(Ontario), sous l’égide du Congrès de la Fédérationcanadienne des 
sciences humaines (FCSH) (http://congress2014.ca/),qui aura pour thème 
«Frontières sans limites». L’ACC vous invite à soumettre une 
communicationsur ce thème ou sur tout autre thème relié aux études en 
communication.

L’ACC estheureuse d’annoncer la présence de la conférencière invitée 
Jodi Dean, professeurede science politique à Hobart and William Smith 
Colleges. Professeure Dean estl’auteure de nombreux ouvrages, notamment 
BlogTheory (2010), Democracy and OtherNeoliberal Fantasies (2009), et 
Aliensin America: Conspiracy Cultures from Outerspace to Cyberspace (1998).


Nous invitonsles chercheuses et chercheurs ainsi que les praticiennes et

(chargés de courset emplois à temps partiel) dans le monde universitaire 
et dans les études encommunication, nous encourageons la constitution de 
panels, de communicationsindividuelles ou de tables rondes sur le sujet.
