INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
McLuhan Galaxy ?Understanding Media, Today?
Barcelona 2011, MAY 23-25

The International Conference McLuhan Galaxy Barcelona 2011 ?Understanding Media, Today? is going to take place in Barcelona 2011 May 23-25 to celebrate the birth centenary of the Canadian thinker Marshall McLuhan. The event is organised by Faculty of Communication, University Pompeu Fabra and Interdisciplinary Internet Institute (IN3), Universitat Oberta de Catalunya / Open University of Catalonia, with the collaboration of CCCB-Lab, Centre of
Contemporary Culture of Barcelona.

Structured into thematic sessions, the conferences, presentations and round tables will count on the presence of international researchers such as Manuel Castells, Eric McLuhan, Derrick de Kerckhove, Robert K. Logan, Javier Echeverria, Alejandro Piscitelli, Ursula Heise,
Javier Díaz Noci, Carlos A. Scolari and Bruce Powe, among others.

McLuhan Galaxy Barcelona 2011 will be held in the 22@ Barcelona, Innovation District, either in the Campus of Communication (UPF), in the IN3/UOC?s Mediatic building (Metro Glories) or in the CCCB. The activities developed in the latter will be open to public and
simultaneous translation will be available.

The Call for Papers opens on December 1st, 2010 and closes on January 7, 2011.
