>Organised in collaboration with the University of Brighton and the
>Centre for War, Representation and Society at the University of
>Sussex, this conference will combine historical and production based
>workshops to give researchers a better idea of both how documentary
>footage has and can be used and how they might translate their own
>research into documentary.

>The goals of the conference are: to encourage engagement with issues
>of production in documentary sources, to develop methodological
>approaches that historically and critically evaluate documentary
>evidence and to discuss the implications of disseminating academic
>research through the medium of documentary. The conference will also
>include a series of workshops on documentary production, research and
>presentation and an opportunity to learn more about the process of
>pitching research to commissioning editors.

>Papers are invited on topics relating to the representation of war in
>documentary form. Topics might include (but are not limited to)
