>The Hummer: Myths and Consumer Culture

>We are now accepting submissions of papers on issues relating to the
>Hummer SUV vehicle for a book publication to be released Fall 2006.  We
>are particularly interested in research and writing that explores
>perspectives on the function of the Hummer as a cultural object.   The
>book is intended as a primary or supplemental text for classes in a
>multiplicity of areas, including Cultural Studies, Sociology, Business,
>English, Media Studies, Communications, Urban Policy and Planning,
>Advertising and Public Policy, as well as a general critique of the
