[ecrea] Pursuing PhD studies in Humanities, Cultural Studies, or Creative Writing at Hong Kong Baptist University

I would like to bring to your attention our PhD programme in the 
Department of Humanities and Creative Writing (HMW), which is funded by 
the Hong Kong government’s PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS). *_I would 
appreciate if you could disseminate this message to your students, 
especially those who just completed, or is about to complete, their MA 
studies._*

Hong Kong Baptist University has 60 years of history, whilethe 
Department of Humanities and Creative Writing (HMW) was established in 
2012.HMW is unique as it traverses several major areas of intellectual 
interests, including cultural studies, philosophy, creative writing 
practice, media and film studies, literary studies, gender and sexuality

Currently we have international PhD students from Switzerland, Austria, 
China, India, Canada, etc., doing research on cultural studies, literary 
studies, media and filmstudies, creative industry, philosophy, history 
of ideas, and gender studies, and so on. Attached please also find a 
table listing the research topics of our current PhD students.

Our teaching staff come from different background and disciplines, and 
can provide a wide variety of cross-disciplinary teaching and 
supervision. We emphasize close teacher-student relation, international 
exposure, and opportunities for overseas attachment.

We welcome original research proposals by students with outstanding 
academic records to apply for HKPFS.  If admitted, the package is as 
follows:

-PhD programme (3 years) via HKPFS, with a monthly stipend of HK$20,000 
(~US$ 2,600).

-HK$42,100 (~US$5,400) 1^st year tuition fee waiver

-HK$84,200 (~US$10,800) scholarship to cover the tuition fee for 2^nd 
and 3^rd year of study

-HK$10,000 (~US$1,300)conference and research related travel 
allowancefor a maximum of 3 years _plus_

-HK$ 15,000 (~US$1,900) University’s provision as conference and 
research related travel allowancefor the entire study period
