This Research fellow post requested is a fixed-term post and it is
anticipated it will start in early May 2014. The post is offered full
time for a maximum duration of 18 months. The post will contribute to
the EU FP7 Regions Of Knowledge project called SmartCulture
(http://www.smartculture.eu ). The SmartCulture project aims to create
growth among the creative industries and strengthen the use of digital
technology in culture and cultural heritage. It aims to provide a
sustainable access to cultural heritage to a wider range of users by the
use of digital technologies that will help to transform passive
audiences into active practitioners of culture. The project will promote
the creation of engaging digital experiences for access to cultural
resources by the cross fertilization between ICT enterprises, Creative
and Cultural Industries (especially small and medium sized firms) and
research stakeholders across Europe. This cross fertilization will lead
to new opportunities and good practices for innovative digital access to
cultural resources and digital cultural mediation. The outcome of the
project is to shape European policy making in the area of cultural
heritage and digital). The project in involves 13 European partners from
United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Netherlands and Denmark.
Candidates must have at last a master degree in a business studies,
economics, cultural and creative studies or related subject in arts and
social science disciplines. Candidates must have knowledge and
experience in the area of creative and cultural industries, creative and
cultural policy within the EU.

Strong analytical skills
Experience of qualitative and quantitative research methods
Good written and verbal communication skills
A strong commitment to working in a team
Ability to manage, coordinate and prioritise a variety of administrative
and organisational tasks
