Wed Jan 15 23:35:12 GMT 2014
AHRC PhD Funding opportunities in Media and Communication
The School of Arts, Languages and Cultures at the University of
Manchester is pleased to invite applications for PhD studentships
through its involvement in the North West Consortium (NWC) funded by the
Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
We welcome applications from outstanding students in Film, Media and
Communication for 2014-15 entry. Students can be supervised across
institution or across disciplines within one selected University, such
as the University of Manchester.
NWC PhDs will be active partners in shaping their own training and
development as researchers and future leaders. They will enjoy access to
outstanding resources and training provision within a collegial
environment supporting them to produce excellent research, contribute to
a world class research environment and engage in mutually beneficial
knowledge exchange (KE) relationships.
Students specialising in media will benefit in particular from shared
training in film and media departments across the North West and from
collaborations with cinemas, film festivals and industry partners in the
region.
The deadline for submitting AHRC funding applications is 5pm on Friday
21 February 2014. Please visit the School of Arts, Languages, and
Cultures funding page for the application form and guidance.
You are advised to submit your online application (Please visit How to
apply) for a place on your chosen PhD programme by Friday 31 January
2014. This will ensure that you are in receipt of an offer of a place on
your chosen PhD programme in advance of the AHRC deadline.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 14th
April 2014.
