Applications are sought from ambitious, talented and highly motivated individuals who will play an active role in enhancing the Department's national and international reputation for teaching and research. The appointment is part of a strategic investment to recruit excellent researchers and teachers who can contribute to the achievement of JMG’s ambitious and innovative plans in the area of digital journalism. The appointee will be expected to contribute with distinction to the taught curriculum at all levels, including core modules in journalism and media, and to take a lead in consolidating and deepening links between the theoretical and practical elements of the journalism programme. In particular we seek a person, with a strong teaching and research record in the area of digital journalism and digital media, including digital news work, audience transformations and new usage patterns, media management and organizational development and strategies, audience participation and interactivity in journalism, and the role of digital news media for the public, organizations and society. The appointee will be required to teach courses in English. Management tasks such as programme coordination could be included. Duties also include actively pursuing external research funding and participating in the internationalization process of education at the basic and advanced level.
