“Writing Academic Applications” A workshop for young scholars in media, communications and gender studies

YECREA organises a Young Scholars Workshop as part of the ECREA Symposium “The Mediation of Scandal and Moral Outrage” http://www.ecrea.eu/events/about/id/60

The workshop is open to all young scholars, and is especially tailored to the interests and needs of those in the last stage of their PhD or in the early steps of their academic career, who are faced with the task of job hunting and application writing, and the concomitant daunting questions: What are the principles of a good application? What do academic employers expect from it? What do funding bodies expect from it? What funding possibilities exist?

The workshop aims at providing advice and guidance on writing successful applications for academic posts. It will address the particularities and demands of applications for: (a) teaching and research posts (e.g. lectureship/assistant professorship/teaching fellowship/research fellowships), and (b) postdoctoral funding proposals (for research councils and other funding bodies).
