Conference: Media, Communication and the Spectacle.
26 and 27 November 2009

The organizing committee of the conference 'Media, Communication and
the Spectacle' is pleased to announce that registration is now open.
The conference is organised by ERMeCC (Erasmus Research Centre for
Media, Communication and Culture) together with ECREA's Gender &
Communication, Communication & Democracy, and Film Studies sections
and the Young Scholars' Network.

The conference will take place on 26 and 27 November 2009 in
Rotterdam starting with a spectacular opening session in which
Douglas Kellner, Nick Couldry and Liesbet van Zoonen will share their
thoughts on how the concept of the Spectacle is useful in today's
academia.

A total of 120 high quality paper presenters are scheduled to present
their work over the two days.
