Post-doctoral Research Fellow (New Media)
   * Salary: £24,152 - £29,704 per annum

renewable if funding is available

The University of Bedfordshire has scored

institution. The university?s research base 
continues to grow and Specialist research areas 
which enjoy an international and national 
reputation include Applied Social Studies, 
Social Work, Health Services, Media and New 
Technologies, Human Computer Interaction, 
Tourism and Leisure, Biomedicine, Cryobiology and Bioenvironmental Sciences.
The PDRA will work in the Research Institute 
for Media Art and Design which has academic 
responsibility for research projects and 
students across to campuses: Luton and Bedford. 
The postholder?s role will support and underpin 
the University?s research and enterprise 
strategy. Therefore the PDRA will be expected to:
? work in conjunction with other members of the 
Research Institute in Media Art and Design to 
organize research seminars and explore 
opportunities for publishing the seminar papers
? mentor research students at masters and Phd level
? undertake your own initiated collaborative research project
? undertake up to 6 hours teaching-related activity
This is a full time post, but job share or part 
time applications will be considered. The PDRA 
would report to Professor Alexis Weedon
Applicants should have a PhD qualification in a 
relevant subject area or be close to submission 
of their PhD thesis, Applicants should have the 
ability to be proactive within a team to 
develop research projects and good 
communication and organizational skills. In 
addition applicants should have a broad 
knowledge of the area of new media 
technologies, have excellent understanding of 
the conventions of academic English and the 
ability to work with academic authors to 
develop their research papers for publication. 
Some experience of editing, electronic journal 
publication and conference organization would be desirable.
