the media, the regulators and academe on current broadcasting issues
The Scottish broadcasting climate is changing. Many commentators argue that
Scottish broadcasting requires reform and change in order to protect and
serve the needs of the Scottish public. This year's VLV Scottish Conference
will examine future prospects for Scottish broadcasting in the digital
environment. The conference will bring together senior broadcasters,
regulators and experts to discuss current issues and debates and their likely
future impact in shaping the Scottish broadcasting environment. The key
questions for the conference include: How should Scottish broadcasting
develop in the light of policy and public debates of recent years; what does
the future hold for public service broadcasting in Scotland; what impact will
the current economic downturn have on Scottish broadcasting; and what are
the implications of these developments for viewers and listeners in Scotland
and for media consumption in general.
