The Faculty of Economics and Social sciences at
the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) invites applications for a
Full Professorship in Media and Communication Science, Emphasis on Journalism
(in French Language)
Besides teaching and research in the field of
Media and Mass Communication (in French language)
the successful applicant will be responsible for
the development of a Bachelor Minor in Journalism
and a Master Major in Economic Communication.
Applications of candidates with advanced
experience in at least one of these academic
fields are very much sought after and very welcome.
The holder of the chair will take part in the
strategic and administrative management of the
bilingual Department (German/French) for Media
and Communication Science and the Faculty of
Economics and Social Sciences. He/she will
conduct research according to his/her profile,
including the acquisition of third-party funds,
participate in the formation of professional
training programs and the development of the department.
In addition to a PhD the applicant should have
advanced experience in teaching and research and
already finished a habilitation or equivalent
postdoctoral studies in Media and Communication
Science. The University of Fribourg is a
bilingual University; at least passive knowledge
of the German language is required.
Entry date: September, 1st 2009.
