Gino Canella is pleased to share the release of a new edited volume,
/Raising Class Consciousness: Labor Movements and Communication Power in
the Information Age/ (Palgrave). It can be accessed here:

The book offers critical and international perspectives on the political
economy of media. It reviews how labor movements have leveraged various
communication mediums to organize and reclaim their agency during
moments of technological disruption. The authors argue that the adoption
and implementation of new technologies are political processes shaped by
economic incentives, worker organizing, and state intervention.
Gino Canella is grateful to the contributors who shared original case
studies, archival research, and theoretical analyses. As algorithms and
artificial intelligence deepen worker precarity, fragment workplaces and
reinforce echo chambers, their studies offer needed perspective.
